Some people get angry when you take their picture or they happen to be in the picture

For something to do I thought I'd take up people photography. What I thought was strange is some people get very upset like I'm doing something wrong. 

It's not like I know who they are and they're in a public place. 

Some people talk like it's a crime to take their picture without their permission. I've given up explaining myself since it doesn't help anything. I never publish any of them since I don't see much point most of the time.

One guy told me I was weird for taking his picture. He also called me a clown and was very threatening about it. To be honest I thought he was weird and a clown for getting upset. It's not like I published it and I have no idea who he was.
